I’ve never watched it before, at 11 o’clock, but I have to say I really like the newscaster Rick Williams. He was just filling in for someone else but he was really funny and had me and the other newscasters laughing. It was refreshing to see such a friendly and likable personality in the news. Lately they’ve all been crankypants robots.
I googled him and found this bio on the ABC website:
“RICK WILLIAMS co-anchor of Action News at noon and Action News at 5 p.m. joined WPVI-TV 6ABC in April of 1988 as a general assignment reporter. Subscribe to Rick Williams’ Podcast- On Parenting Before moving to the evening broadcast, Rick anchored Action News Mornings with Monica Malpass for more than a decade.
Rick is also the reporter for “Crimefighters” which airs every week on Action News.
He has collected hundreds of awards for his outstanding work at Channel 6, as well as his commitment to community service projects.
Rick also hosts of “Youth Perspective” a weekly show featuring local teenagers engaged in a round-table discussion of current events.
Prior to Action News, he worked as a reporter at WRAL-TV in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, at WOWK-TV, Huntington, West Virginia, and at WUSA in Washington, DC.
Rick graduated in 1983 from Howard University, Washington, DC with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism.”
Awesome! Rick Williams, I will watch your newscasts.
